If the needle in airbrush is bent it has to be replaced. Bent needle causes irregular paint streaming, paint spitting and clogging. Needle is removed by pulling it backwards after loosening the needle locking nut. To reinstall the needle, the safest way is to remove the air cap and nozzle and insert the needle blunt side first through the airbrush front. Push the needle untill the pointed tip is barely visible in the airbrush then reinstall nozzle and air cap. Finally press the needle forward into the nozzle untill you fill the slightest resistsance and secure the needle locking nut.

Choosing correct size of nozzle, needle and air cap is very important.All those parts have to be the same size for the airbrush to work correctly. Mixing those parts might result in damage e.g. to the nozzle by putting inside too large needle. Harder & Steenbeck nozzle size is denoted by the number of lines cut onto the nozzle. 0,6 mm nozzle has six thin lines. End of corresponding needle features six beads machined on it
