If the airbrush nozzle is bent, fractured or otherwise damaged - the tool will not function properly. In such cases nozzle needs to be replaced with a new one. Symptomes like paint spitting, clogging, irregular paint stream and a large overspray might mean that the nozzle is damaged. Clean your airbrush thoroughly and examine the nozzle - preferably using a magnifying glass. If no damage is visible solution might be just replacing the nozzle seal.

Choosing correct size of nozzle, needle and air cap is very important.All those parts have to be the same size for the airbrush to work correctly. Mixing those parts might result in damage e.g. to the nozzle by putting inside too large needle. Harder & Steenbeck nozzle size is denoted by the number of lines cut onto the nozzle. 0,6 mm nozzle has six thin lines. End of corresponding needle features six beads machined on it
